Emma Marshall and Tristan Hargreaves, the directors of estate agents Woolley and Wallis Lymington presented the Lymington Dementia Action Group with a cheque for £160. The money was raised as part of a raffle arranged by the firm to help local organisations. A total of £320 was raised, which was split equally between the Lymington Dementia Action Group and Simon Says Child Bereavement. Emma Marshall said, “These are two important charities in Lymington that as a local agent we are proud to support. The work they do is invaluable, especially for the families dealing with a difficult situation.”
Tim Wookey, collected the cheque on behalf of the Lymington Dementia Action Group from their High St office and took the opportunity to explain some of the group’s initiatives that their funds would help support. In particular the recent bi-annual Tea Dance, which welcomed around 60 people living with dementia on 29th October into the Lymington Centre for live music, tea and cakes.
Tim Wookey commented, “Our group is made up entirely of volunteers who co-ordinate activities and events for people living with dementia, to make life a little easier. We couldn’t undertake the work we do without the essential support of local companies and organisations making donations, baking cakes, funding leaflets, providing volunteers etc. We are really very grateful indeed.”
