Despite constant new legislation and fears about being a Landlord the recent UK Private Rented Sector Report shows that demand for rental accommodation is up 10 per cent since January 2016 and that the supply of rental stock also increased in January 2017. Across the country, letting agents had a 12% increase in properties let from the previous year. Rent increases are still positive; however the increase slowed down in the year, bringing good news for Tenants.
This is encouraging data and gives confidence that investing in bricks and mortar is still a viable way of getting returns on buy to let investments.
