The threshold is being increased from 450 square metres to 465 square metres.

Up to five new homes of no more than 100 square metres each, while limiting each agricultural unit to no more than five homes in total.


A one-year extension to temporary Class P permitted development rights allowing the conversion of B8 storage and distribution uses to housing. (This was due to lapse on 15 April 2018 – now extended to 15th April 2019.)

Class P allows for changes of use from class B8 (storage and distribution) to housing for premises of up to 500 square metres, subject to certain criteria, with prior approval being required to assess transport and highway impacts as well as contamination and flooding risks in relation to the buildings being converted.


Increasing the size limit of new agricultural buildings on larger farms under Class A (tbc) from 465 square metres to 1,000 square metres.
