Charity Fund Raising

Well we made it back between ash clouds. The trip was certainly a challenge. We covered 588 miles and climbed 14,000 metres passing throught the Massif Central and over the Pyrenees into Spain. The weather was not quite as one would expect in May in southern France. Most of the time we were very wet and frozen. The rain came down in sheets, we had a violent hail storm and then snow. The photo above may give you an idea of the weather.

The next challenge will be in September another 550ish miles around Southern Ireland probably in the rainI am writing to you to see if you would kindly sponsor me to raise money in support of Salisbury Hospice and the Ark Centre a superb Cancer Surgery Charity. This is particularly important to me this year as my mother struggles with the late stages of bowel and liver cancer which has sadly now spread. She has been very well looked after by surgeon Myrddin (Merv) Rees DL FRCS who is a consultant surgeon and chairman of the Ark Cancer Surgery Charity. She is now also being looked after by the Salisbury Hospice. However, we all seem to know someone who is affected by this terrible disease.

In these difficult times, charities are suffering badly and causes like this really do need support. I can assure you that EVERY PENNY you give will go to charity - that's because I pay in FULL for the cost of the trip personally so that everything you give goes to charity.
