Woolley & Wallis help take flight with the Great Bustard.Woolley & Wallis are passionate advocators of the environment and support charities which help to maintain local wildlife and sustain our stunning landscapes. Supporting www.greatbustard.org with the incredible work they do to re-introduce the Great Bustards into Wiltshire is a privilege.
Great Bustards are the world's heaviest flying birds, with males reaching an incredible 20kg in weight. They have a wingspan of 2.5 metres and stand over one metre tall. These majestic birds are on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, and European populations have been in long term decline.
The aim of www.Great Bustard.org is to ensure there are suitable environments for the Great Bustards to thrive. The charity introduces agri-environental schemes to promote Bustard friendly habitats and manage areas important for lekking and breeding.
“The Charity does an excellent job by providing help and advice securing funding for landowners and farmers who wish to help to protect these extraordinary birds. There is a small population on Salisbury Plain and with the incredible work the charity does, let’s hope more of us can enjoy these magnificent birds as release sites and safe natural habitats are protected throughout the Wiltshire Downs.”
