Woolley & Wallis are delighted to expand their presence in South West Wiltshire by acquiring Gilyard Scarth Lettings in the thriving market town of Mere, conveniently located immediately south of the A303 just below the West Wiltshire Downs and close to the National Trust Gardens at Stourhead.
Gilyard Scarth Lettings located in The Old Coffee Tavern, Salisbury Street, Mere has been owned and run by Saffron Reilly-Stitt since 2004 and Saffron will remain in post for the next few months to ensure a smooth handover. Saffron commented:
“I had several offers from local agents to buy the business, but chose Woolley and Wallis as they are an established local firm with an experienced lettings team and with a long association with the area and share similar business values with Gilyard Scarth Lettings. Ben Marshall who is a partner at Woolley and Wallis has lived in Mere for the last 20 years and there is another connection through David Wheeler who until recently was a Director of Gilyard Scarth Estate Agents.”
Woolley and Wallis are excited about the strategic benefit of having a Mere office and will be offering their full range of services to the town and surrounding community supported by staff in Shaftesbury and Salisbury, bringing with them a wealth of experience. Their lettings manager in Shaftesbury, Debbie Scaith has lived in Mere for 15 years and will support the staff in the Mere office.
